Team Profile
The Army Black Knights embody the tradition and spirit of American military excellence at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Since 1899, these black, gold, and gray warriors have lived by the academy’s motto of “Duty, Honor, Country,” building one of college athletics’ most storied programs. The Black Knights have conquered many fields of glory, capturing three football national championships from 1944 to 1946 and maintaining dominance in the legendary Army-Navy rivalry that captivates the nation every December. Their boxing program is unparalleled with multiple national titles, while their handball teams have won 37 men’s and 23 women’s national championships combined. The rugby program has reached three consecutive national championship games, securing the 2022 Division 1-A title. Competing in historic venues like Michie Stadium with its iconic “Beat Navy” tunnel, the Black Knights play where legends are forged. Guided by their mule mascots and the stirring anthem “On, Brave Old Army Team,” these cadets compete not just for championships but for country and honor. When the Black Knights take the field, duty meets destiny at America’s most revered military academy.
