Team Profile
The Colgate Raiders stand proudly atop the hills of Hamilton, New York, combining fierce competitive spirit with academic excellence since 1932. Known for their maroon and white colors, the Raiders have built a storied athletics tradition across 23 varsity sports competing in the Patriot League and ECAC Hockey. Their legendary 1932 football team achieved a rare national championship season—unbeaten, untied, unscored upon, and uninvited—shutting out every opponent. The football program reached the Division I-AA championship game in 2003 after a perfect regular season. Colgate’s hockey teams battle fiercely within the ECAC at the Class of 1965 Arena, contributing to their rich competitive heritage. Historic venues like Andy Kerr Stadium and Cotterell Court provide passionate settings where legends are made. Intense rivalries with Cornell and Syracuse energize their fan base and campus community. When the Raiders take the field, Hamilton erupts with pride as championships and spirited competition follow.
