The Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens bring fierce determination and proud tradition to the University of Delaware in Newark. Competing in NCAA Division I as members of Conference USA, the Blue Hens boast an extraordinary legacy spanning multiple sports with four NCAA national championships. Their football program leads the way with six national titles, including the 2003 NCAA Division I Football Championship, and has been guided by three College Football Hall of Fame coaches. The women’s field hockey team captured the 2016 NCAA Championship, and the women’s lacrosse program claimed the national title in 1983. Basketball excellence is highlighted by WNBA star and two-time MVP Elena Delle Donne, who helped lead the women's program to historic NCAA Tournament victories. Mascot YoUDee has won seven UCA National Mascot Championships, energizing fans alongside a nationally dominant figure skating program with six national titles. Across 22 varsity sports, Delaware consistently develops athletes reaching Olympic trials and international competition in swimming, track and field, and lacrosse. The program’s recent transition to FBS football and addition of women’s ice hockey affirm its ongoing commitment to excellence, opportunity, and a championship future in royal blue and gold.
