Fisk University is in Nashville, Tennessee, and its teams are the Bulldogs. Fisk competes in the NAIA as a member of the HBCU Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs field men's and women's basketball teams, and Fisk's athletics site posts schedules, results and news for each program.
Fisk became the first HBCU to sponsor a women's gymnastics team. The university said in a June 2025 FAQ that the 2025-26 season would be the program's last. The same FAQ explains that the HBCU Athletic Conference does not sponsor gymnastics, so the team had no regularly scheduled conference competition, and that Fisk did not have a dedicated gymnastics training facility. A full-size collegiate facility would need roughly 15,000 to 20,000 square feet and ceilings of about 20 feet, which the university did not consider viable.
