Team Profile
The Jacksonville University Dolphins embody a legendary basketball history, a modern spirit of innovation, and the pride of Florida's River City in Jacksonville. The university's place in college sports history was forever secured in 1970, when a high-flying men's basketball team led by Hall of Fame center Artis Gilmore captivated the nation with a magical run to the NCAA National Championship game. In the modern era, the Dolphins have built an unlikely national powerhouse in men's lacrosse, consistently competing with and defeating the sport's traditional blue bloods. This commitment to excellence is also found on the water, where the women's rowing team has created a dynasty, winning numerous conference championships and making regular appearances at the NCAA Championships. As a charter member of the ASUN Conference, JU's competitive fire burns brightest during the "River City Rumble," a heated crosstown rivalry with North Florida. The Jacksonville Dolphins represent a program with a legacy that far outweighs its size, a proud testament to the idea that any team with vision and heart can reach the final game.
