The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns represent the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in vibrant vermilion and white. Competing in NCAA Division I’s Sun Belt Conference, the Ragin’ Cajuns are best known for their nationally dominant softball program, boasting six Women’s College World Series appearances and an iconic upset over #1 Florida in 2008. The basketball program made history under coach Beryl Shipley who broke color barriers and produced NBA stars like Dwight “Bo” Lamar and Andrew Toney. The program continues to captivate with multiple conference titles and NCAA appearances. Additionally, Louisiana excels in water skiing, a national elite competitor with multiple national championships since 1995. Facilities such as “The Swamp” at Cajun Field provide passionate atmospheres that fuel championship traditions.
