Team Profile
The New Mexico State Aggies embody rugged determination and championship tradition at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Since 1907, the Aggies have been a proud, tenacious force competing in NCAA Division I’s Conference USA with crimson and white pride. Historic athletic moments include a 1970 Final Four basketball appearance and back-to-back Sun Bowl victories in 1959 and 1960. The men’s golf program boasts 17 conference championships and has nurtured PGA Tour champions such as 2002 PGA winner Rich Beem. Nationally recognized volleyball under legendary coach Mike Jordan features 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. New Mexico State alumni are Olympians and international competitors in track, swimming, basketball, and golf, testifying to their elite development. Home venues like the Pan American Center and Aggie Memorial Stadium witness fierce competition, especially in the heated Rio Grande Rivalry with New Mexico and the Battle of I-10 against UTEP. Led by fiercely spirited mascot Pistol Pete, the Aggies continue chasing Olympic dreams and championship excellence in the Land of Enchantment.
