Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga embodies Irish fighting spirit and championship excellence, proudly wearing Navy, Red, and Silver as the Gaels. Established in 1926 and inspired by ancient Celtic warriors, Saint Mary’s men’s basketball has become a premier mid-major program with multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. The 2010 Sweet Sixteen run, including a stunning upset over #2 Villanova, highlights the fearless style and national recognition under coach Randy Bennett. NBA talents such as Patty Mills and Matthew Dellavedova reflect the program’s ability to develop elite players.
