The Samford Bulldogs embody unyielding determination and Southern pride at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama. Since their origins as Howard College, the Bulldogs have competed in the Southern Conference wearing blue and red. Their legacy is marked by historic moments across multiple sports, including men’s basketball NCAA tournament appearances in 1999 and 2000 and consecutive women’s NCAA appearances in 2011 and 2012. Baseball excellence peaked with a 2012 NCAA tournament run to the Tallahassee Regional finals, while the softball team secured both regular season and tournament championships in 2016 with a record-setting 40 wins. The legendary Bobby Bowden established the program’s football traditions during his coaching tenure. Pete Hanna Stadium and the Thomas E. and Marla H. Corts Arena are vibrant venues where mascot Sam the Bulldog leads a loyal fan base.
