Team Profile
The Seattle University Redhawks embody a legendary basketball past, a successful modern rebirth, and the innovative spirit of their home in the heart of Seattle, Washington. The university's athletic history is built on a "golden age" of basketball, when future NBA Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor led the program to the 1958 NCAA National Championship game, cementing Seattle U's status as a one-time national powerhouse. After a three-decade absence from the highest level of competition, the Redhawks successfully completed their ambitious return to Division I, deliberately rebuilding a program to honor its storied past. This new era has been marked by broad success, with a men's soccer program that has reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and a men's basketball team that reclaimed its place atop the conference by winning a WAC regular-season championship. As a proud Jesuit institution and a competitive force in the Western Athletic Conference, Seattle U combines a commitment to academic excellence with a renewed drive for athletic glory. The Seattle Redhawks are a program reborn, a sleeping giant of college basketball that has reawakened to write the next chapter of its remarkable legacy.
