The UMass Lowell River Hawks embody the hard-working spirit of a historic Mill City, a deep tradition of national championships, and the resilient pride of Lowell, Massachusetts. The university's identity is forged on the ice, where the men's hockey program evolved from a Division II dynasty with three national titles into a modern Division I blue blood, winning multiple Hockey East championships and making a run to the 2013 Frozen Four. The Tsongas Center has become a breeding ground for elite professional talent, producing numerous NHL players, including Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. After successfully elevating its entire athletic department to Division I, UMass Lowell has become a major force in the America East Conference, with the men's basketball team consistently competing for conference titles and a spot in March Madness.
