Florida has played football in Gainesville since 1906 and helped found the SEC in 1932. Steve Spurrier named the stadium the Swamp in 1992. The band started the Gator Chomp in 1981, and the whole place sings “We Are the Boys from Old Florida” between the third and fourth quarters. The team trains next door in a building that opened in 2022.
