Team Profile
The St. Thomas Tommies proudly represent Minnesotaâs University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with purple and gray pride. Founded in 1904, the Tommies have developed a rich athletics culture competing in The Summit League and recently transitioned directly from Division III to Division Iâthe first program to leap so successfully. With 15 NCAA Division III national championships across eight sports, the Tommies exemplify Minnesota grit and excellence. Menâs basketball titles (2011, 2016), womenâs championships (1991), and baseball and softball national titles underscore a multifaceted tradition. Facilities like Schoenecker Arena and OâShaughnessy Stadium create dynamic atmospheres fueled by mascot Tommie. Now competing at a new level, the Tommies embrace the Twin Cities' values of determination and community support, preparing student-athletes for continued success. The Purple and Gray roar louder than ever as St. Thomas pursues excellence on the national stage.
