The UTSA Roadrunners embody the spirit of San Antonio and fierce determination at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Since adopting Rowdy as their mascot in 1977, UTSA has risen as the city’s premier collegiate athletic program, competing in NCAA Division I’s American Athletic Conference across 17 varsity sports. The football program has garnered national attention with back-to-back Conference USA championships in 2021 and 2022, earning top-25 rankings and College Football Playoff consideration for the first time. In 2025, the baseball team reached new heights by winning the American Athletic Conference championship and advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals, overcoming powerhouse teams like second-seeded Texas. UTSA’s cheerleading squads boast two NCA national titles, while the softball program set NCAA records for home runs, highlighting their explosive athleticism. The historic Alamodome and modern campus facilities provide vibrant venues where Roadrunners build and sustain championship traditions. Through a commitment to excellence, UTSA develops Olympians and professionals who compete at the highest international and professional levels, exemplifying the proud spirit of San Antonio in every contest.
