Grayshirt

An arrangement where a recruit delays their enrollment and scholarship until the following semester (usually January instead of August). Unlike a redshirt, the grayshirt athlete isn't on scholarship or practicing with the team during the fall. Less common than redshirting but used for roster management and academic timing.
