The Air Force Falcons represent the United States Air Force Academy with a proud tradition of integrity, service, and athletic excellence. Competing in the Mountain West Conference, the Falcons sport the blue and silver colors that symbolize the sky and their commitment to defending freedom. Their program spans 30 varsity sports and boasts two NCAA team championships alongside 48 individual national titles. The Falcons’ storied boxing dynasty includes 18 National Collegiate Boxing Association championships under legendary coach Ed Weichers, while the wrestling program made history with the first-ever championship by an Air Force team in 1991. Their rugby squads have earned national titles, and women’s swimming claimed back-to-back NCAA Division II titles in 1995 and 1996. Falcon Stadium, located 6,621 feet above sea level in the Colorado Rockies, provides a majestic home for football, embodying the Air Force’s fighting spirit. The hockey team made history in 2007 as the first service academy to reach the NCAA tournament, famously upsetting top-seeded Michigan in 2009. The live falcon mascot Nova symbolizes precision and power, reflecting Falcon values. Notable alumni include NBA Hall of Fame coach Gregg Popovich.
