The Arkansas State Red Wolves represent Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, embodying excellence in scarlet and black. Competing in NCAA Division I’s Sun Belt Conference, the Red Wolves boast a storied legacy highlighted by the 1970 NCAA College Division National Championship football team’s perfect 11-0 season. Continuous success includes multiple Sun Belt football championships, notably three consecutive titles from 2011 to 2013. Track and field is a historic strength, producing Olympic medalists like Al Joyner (gold, triple jump), Earl Bell (bronze, pole vault), and Thomas Hill (silver, 110-meter hurdles), with world record holder Jeff Hartwig and two-time Olympian Kellie Suttle continuing this legacy of elite competition. Arkansas State’s rugby program shines with back-to-back USA Rugby Sevens National Championships (2012, 2013) and a three-year unbeaten streak, underscoring their dominance beyond traditional sports. The passionate fan base fills Centennial Bank Stadium in support of a program combining sustained athletic achievement, Olympic pedigree, and a broad culture of championship pride.
