Team Profile
The Bellarmine University Knights embody a proven championship pedigree, a celebrated brand of intelligent basketball, and the proud spirit of their hometown, Louisville, Kentucky. The university's national reputation was forged on the hardwood, where the Knights built a Division II dynasty under legendary coach Scott Davenport, capturing the 2011 National Championship and making four trips to the Final Four. Bellarmine is renowned for its beautiful, intricate style of play—a fluid, unselfish motion offense that has earned the respect of basketball purists across the country. Upon transitioning to Division I, the Knights proved their system translates to the highest level, making history by winning the ASUN Conference Tournament championship during their reclassification period. The team's home games are played in the legendary Freedom Hall, an iconic venue that provides a major-league atmosphere for one of the nation's smartest teams. Now fully established in Division I, the Bellarmine Knights are poised to carve out a new legacy of success in their basketball-crazed city.
