The football series with Notre Dame, a meeting of two Catholic universities, is known as the Holy War. Across town, the Green Line Rivalry with Boston University runs hottest on the ice, and the two schools meet with Harvard and Northeastern every February in the Beanpot, which BC won in 2026. The Eagles also stage a Red Bandanna Game in honor of Welles Crowther, a former BC lacrosse player who died saving others at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
