Team Profile
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers represent Coastal Carolina University in Conway with teal, bronze, and black pride. Their athletic legacy culminated in the 2016 NCAA Baseball National Championship— the school’s first-ever national title. Known for the proud and fighting spirit symbolized by the historic Chanticleer rooster, the program has won nine Sasser Cups as the Big South’s premier athletic program. The baseball team enjoys national prominence with multiple #1 regional seeds and the ability to host NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals at Springs Brooks Stadium. Volleyball dominates with four consecutive conference championships led by Leah Hardeman, the only Division I player to win four conference player of the year honors. The men’s basketball team has made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, while the burgeoning football program has captured seven Big South titles and produced stunning upsets, including a win over #1 James Madison. Olympic-level athletes such as PGA major champion Dustin Johnson and multiple professional soccer players enrich Chanticleers’ competitive landscape. Coastal Carolina blends Southern culture, competitive ambition, and a tradition of championship excellence across all programs.
