Team Profile
The Holy Cross Crusaders of Worcester, Massachusetts, combine Jesuit academic distinction with athletic glory. Since 1884, these royal purple warriors have developed one of the most prestigious programs in college sports, competing across 27 varsity sports with steadfast commitment. Holy Cross is among just nine schools to have won NCAA national championships in both basketball (1947) and baseball (1952). Their 1987 football team ended undefeated and was ranked number one nationally. The men’s ice hockey team famously upset top-seeded Minnesota as a 16-seed in 2006, establishing a memorable NCAA tournament moment. Historic Fitton Field and the Hart Recreation Center provide venues rich with tradition and competitive spirit. Holy Cross boasts the nation’s highest team-to-enrollment ratio and a 97% graduation success rate, embodying the Jesuit ideal of excellence in mind, body, and spirit. When the Crusaders take the field, Mount St. James awakens in a wave of royal purple pride, inspiring both athletes and fans alike.
