The Lehigh Mountain Hawks, rooted in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, combine engineering excellence with athletic distinction. Since 1865, these brown and white warriors have built a respected athletics program spanning 23 varsity sports within the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks earned the 1977 Division II football national championship and reached the 1979 Division I-AA title game, underscoring football prominence. Their stunning upset against #2 Duke as a 15-seed in the 2012 NCAA basketball tournament remains one of March Madness’s most memorable. Wrestling ranks as a powerhouse with 34 EIWA championships, 28 NCAA individual champions, and the production of Olympic gold medalist Bobby Weaver. Lehigh’s historic Goodman Stadium hosts “The Rivalry” with Lafayette—college football’s most-played matchup with 159 games. Grace Hall’s “Snakepit” vaults wrestling into a legendary status. Mascot Clutch and the spirited Marching 97 embody precision, innovation, and excellence. When the Mountain Hawks soar, sporty engineers together forge championship glory for the Lehigh community.
