The University of Maryland Terrapins personify athletic excellence and rich tradition at College Park, known for their unique four-color identity: red, white, gold, and black. Since 1892, the Terrapin programs have captured 32 NCAA team national championships across men’s basketball, women’s sports, field hockey, lacrosse, football, and soccer. In men’s basketball, the 2002 national title under Gary Williams heralded Maryland’s rise, while women's lacrosse boasts a record 15 NCAA championships, and men’s lacrosse has claimed multiple titles. Their football program holds national championships from the 1950s, reflecting decades of competitive achievement.
