Team Profile
The Citadel Bulldogs embody unwavering principle, a commitment to lifelong duty, and the proud tradition of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets in historic Charleston, South Carolina. As one of the nation's premier senior military colleges, The Citadel forges leaders of character, producing cadet-athletes whose discipline, integrity, and resilience are honed long before they step onto the field of competition. This ethos is epitomized by its football program, known for its disciplined style of play and a history of shocking FBS giants like South Carolina and Arkansas. The program’s 1992 Southern Conference championship season and the annual "Military Classic of the South" against VMI are cornerstones of its storied legacy. The Citadel's greatest moment on the national stage came on the baseball diamond, where the 1990 team achieved the unthinkable for a military college, making a legendary run to the College World Series in Omaha. The Bulldog mascot, a symbol of tenacity and courage, perfectly represents the grit required to succeed in the demanding environment of the Corps and the Southern Conference. Athletics at The Citadel is a proving ground for principled leaders, where victory is measured by a commitment to excellence and the honor-bound spirit that defines "The Citadel Way."
