Ohio State University Buckeyes represent one of the most comprehensive and successful collegiate athletic programs in the nation. Since adopting the Buckeye nickname in 1950, OSU has captured 92 national championships across football, swimming, artistic swimming, basketball, wrestling, men’s volleyball, women's ice hockey, and many other sports. The football program boasts nine national titles and legendary figures like Archie Griffin, the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner. Ohio State’s men’s swimming program has 11 NCAA championships, and the artistic swimming team holds 32 national titles. Basketball achievements include the 1960 NCAA championship. Over 200 Buckeyes have represented their countries in the Olympics, winning 77 medals, including the legendary Jesse Owens, whose four gold medals in 1936 remain inspirational. “The Shoe,” Ohio Stadium, accommodates over 100,000 fans with electrifying game-day energy.
