The University of Tennessee Volunteers, representing both menās and womenās athletics, have built a proud dynasty steeped in tradition and competitive excellence in Knoxville. Known as the "Volunteers" in honor of Tennesseeās nickname as the Volunteer State, the program claims 24 NCAA team championships. The Lady Vols womenās basketball team is a powerhouse with eight national championships under legendary coach Pat Summitt, the winningest coach in college basketball history. Tennessee baseball captured its first College World Series title in 2024, marking a historic achievement. The football program boasts six national championships, including the 1998 BCS title, playing in the iconic Neyland Stadiumāone of the nationās largest venues with over 102,000 fans.
