Team Profile
The University of West Florida Argonauts embody a spirit of bold adventure, a culture of rapid championship achievement, and the vibrant pride of their home on Florida's Emerald Coast in Pensacola. The university's national identity was forged in one of the most meteoric rises in college football history; after launching their program in 2016, the Argonauts reached the national title game in their second season and won the NCAA Division II National Championship in just their fourth. The Argonaut mascot, a mythical hero on a quest for a golden prize, perfectly symbolized a young team that navigated uncharted waters to capture the ultimate trophy. This championship standard is the norm across campus, as UWF has also captured NCAA Division II National Championships in women's soccer, baseball, and men's tennis, making it one of the most successful and well-rounded athletic departments in the nation. As a perennial power in the formidable Gulf South Conference, the Argonauts have established a reputation for excellence and a proven ability to compete for national titles year after year. The West Florida Argonauts represent a modern model of athletic ambition, a program that has proven with a clear vision and unwavering commitment, a champion can be built in record time.
