Are you Sasha Atencio?
Sasha Atencio, a dedicated port/starboard, is making waves with the Stags at Fairfield University. With a relentless pursuit of improvement, Sasha dedicates significant time to honing technical skills both in the weight room and on the practice field. This commitment to excellence is evident in their preparation for competition, where every session is an opportunity to refine performance and build chemistry with teammates.
As a port/starboard, Sasha Atencio plays a pivotal role in the boat's balance and speed. This position requires not only a high level of physical fitness but also an acute awareness of how to adjust techniques based on water conditions and team dynamics. Each practice is designed to simulate race environments, allowing Sasha and their teammates to experience the pressure and develop the resilience needed for competition day. This focus on situational training prepares them for the unique challenges they will face on the water.
In the broader structure of the Stags' rowing team, Sasha fits into a competitive group that emphasizes teamwork and strategic collaboration. This year, the roster is particularly deep, with several experienced rowers, creating a dynamic environment where Sasha can both learn and lead by example. The synergy within the team is crucial for achieving peak performance during races.
