The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) is a college athletic conference established in 1992-93 to serve the competitive needs of member institutions primarily in the western United States, providing championship competition for NCAA Olympic sports not sponsored by a school's primary conference. The conference was founded to enhance competition and championship opportunities for sports without conference affiliation, contain the costs of competition, and ensure the survival of endangered sports. Now in its 34th season in 2025-26, the MPSF sponsors competition in 16 intercollegiate Olympic sports, serving 104 teams from 60 universities across 22 states and two nations. The conference competes primarily at the NCAA Division I level in men's and women's water polo, indoor track and field, gymnastics, swimming and diving, fencing, beach volleyball, men's volleyball, and field hockey, with men's and women's water polo, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball conference champions earning automatic NCAA qualification. The MPSF has accumulated 113 NCAA titles and a non-Power Four conference-high 121 overall national championships since its inaugural season, becoming the first non-Power Five conference to reach 100 NCAA titles in 2021. Notably, the MPSF has won every men's and women's water polo NCAA championship since the conference's founding — 33 men's titles and 29 women's titles combined. UCLA leads all programs with 25 national championships, followed by Stanford with 20 and USC with 16. The MPSF has also been a pipeline to the Olympics, with 138 current or former student-athletes and coaches participating in the 2024 Paris Games, earning 59 medals and ranking fourth among all NCAA conferences in both total participants and medals. The conference is headquartered in Seattle, Washington and is led by Executive Director Foti Mellis.
