The National Collegiate Women''s Wrestling Coalition (NCWWC) is the primary governing and organizing body for NCAA women''s collegiate wrestling across Division I, Division II, and Division III institutions. Formed in 2019 through a collaborative effort by USA Wrestling, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), and member universities, the NCWWC was established to serve as the competitive pathway for women''s wrestling while it worked toward full NCAA championship status.
The coalition oversees six regional qualification tournaments across the country, establishing standardized rules, weight classes, and rankings. It culminates in the annual National Collegiate Women''s Wrestling Championships, where individual and team national champions are crowned. The NCWWC has been instrumental in the rapid expansion of women''s freestyle wrestling at the collegiate level, elevating student-athletes and fostering elite competition nationwide.
