12 Schools•Division II•Est. 2006
The Pacific West Conference is the "Island-to-Inland Empire" powerhouse of NCAA Division II, a unique and geographically stunning athletic alliance that bridges the gap between the California coastline and the lush landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the PacWest is defined by an identity of "Coastal Flair and Competitive Fire." Its footprint is one of the most exotic in college sports, stretching from the urban hubs of Los Angeles, Orange County, and the Bay Area across 2,500 miles of Pacific Ocean to the volcanic peaks of Oahu and the Big Island. It is a league of "Endless Summer Athletics," where palm trees and ocean breezes provide the backdrop for some of the most intense competition in the West.
The conference’s soul is anchored in its status as a National Juggernaut in Basketball and Soccer. On the hardwood, the PacWest is a "High-Octane Laboratory," characterized by a fast-paced, transition-heavy style of play that mirrors the energy of its West Coast roots. Programs like Point Loma, Azusa Pacific, and Biola have established themselves as national fixtures, while the "Hawaii Gauntlet"—the grueling road trip to face Hawaii Pacific, Chaminade, and UH Hilo—is one of the most feared and respected tours in Division II hoops.
