The Alabama A&M Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs exemplify determination and tradition at Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama. Competing in NCAA Division I as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference, the Bulldogs have cultivated an extraordinary athletic legacy that includes five NCAA national championships and the development of elite competitors at professional and international levels across 17 varsity sports. Highlights include two NCAA Division II men's soccer national titles (1977, 1979) and three women's track and field championships (1992 indoor and outdoor, 1993 outdoor). The basketball programs have produced professional athletes who have advanced to the NBA and international leagues. Under the legendary coaching of L. Vann Pettaway, the men’s basketball team achieved a dominant 136-20 record between 1992 and 1997. From Louis Crews Stadium to the Alabama A&M Events Center, the Bulldogs foster championship traditions while continually producing Olympians and professional athletes. Their track and field teams have a history of reaching Olympic trials, World Championships, and other elite competitions, making Alabama A&M a beacon of athletic excellence in maroon and white, dedicated to developing champions who represent the pinnacle of achievement on national and international stages.
