Team Profile
The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils embody a tough, blue-collar work ethic, a deep tradition of conference championships, and the proud spirit of their home in New Britain, Connecticut. The university's identity on the national stage was forged during a golden era of men's basketball, when legendary coach Howie Dickenman led the Blue Devils to three separate appearances in the NCAA March Madness tournament between 2000 and 2007. In the modern era, that championship mantle has been taken up by the football program, which has become a dominant force in the Northeast Conference, capturing multiple league titles and making several trips to the FCS Playoffs. This culture of winning is a common thread across campus, with a powerhouse women's soccer program and a competitive baseball team also capturing numerous conference championships. As a long-standing member of the NEC, Central Connecticut has established a reputation as a tough, disciplined opponent that is always in the hunt for a title. The Central Connecticut State Blue Devils represent a proud tradition of earning success the hard way, a program built on grit and the relentless pursuit of victory.
