Led by beloved mascots Racer One and Dunker, Murray State has established basketball prominence with 18 NCAA Tournament appearances, featuring legendary stars such as NBA Rookie of the Year Ja Morant and Hall of Famer Joe Fulks. The rifle program is a powerhouse with three NCAA titles and six Olympic team members, including 1984 gold medalist Pat Spurgin. Additionally, the track and field program has produced ten Olympians representing the United States in sprinting, jumping, and distance events.
