North Dakota’s NIL potential is bolstered by a strong donor ecosystem and a loyal alumni base concentrated in the Upper Midwest. This network enhances student-athlete ROI through endorsement opportunities and community partnerships. The local economic environment, while smaller than major metropolitan areas, offers stable support through regional businesses and sponsorships that value UND’s brand visibility. The Ralph Engelstad Arena, a state-of-the-art facility for hockey, and the Alerus Center, an NFL-sized stadium for football, serve as key assets in recruiting leverage and media rights negotiations. Together, these infrastructure elements amplify UND’s capacity to generate NIL value while sustaining competitive program funding.
