Team Profile
The Presbyterian Blue Hose represent the storied heritage of the Palmetto State at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina. Founded in 1880 and competing in the Big South Conference with blue and garnet pride, the Blue Hose combine Scottish heritage with Southern tradition, forging a program rooted in innovation and community. Presbyterian became the first Division I school to sponsor women’s wrestling, breaking new ground and opening doors for female athletes nationwide. The program transitioned to Division I FCS competition while adding unique programs such as acrobatics and tumbling, reflecting a fearless spirit. Bailey Memorial Stadium and Ross E. Templeton Center create intimate atmospheres where mascot Scotty the Scotsman unites the Blue Hose family in traditions spanning generations. The team name honors the blue socks worn by early football pioneers, and "The Links at Jeff E. Redwood," an unconventional eight-hole campus golf course, embodies creativity and perseverance. Blending the legacy of Revolutionary War battlefields with modern athletic achievement, Presbyterian develops student-athletes who excel through character and determination. The Blue Hose demonstrate that heart surpasses size, proudly carrying Scottish warrior spirit into every competition.
