Team Profile
The Providence Friars represent Rhode Island’s proud heritage and athletic excellence at Providence College. Since 1921, the Friars have woven a distinctive identity competing in the Big East Conference wearing black, white, and silver. Their championship story is marked by the 2015 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Championship and women’s cross country dominance with back-to-back titles in 1995 and 2013. The Friars have claimed multiple Big East Tournament victories and maintain a tradition of NCAA appearances in a wide array of sports. Amica Mutual Pavilion, their home arena, becomes a cathedral of enthusiasm when Friar Dom leads thousands in spirited chants. From Schneider Arena to Alumni Hall, Providence’s venues showcase a passion steeped in history and community pride.
