The Texas State Bobcats embody tradition and fierceness at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, proudly donning maroon and gold. Competing in NCAA Division I with a move to the Pac-12 scheduled for 2026, the Bobcats boast multiple national championships and Olympic-level excellence. Football secured back-to-back NCAA Division II National Championships in 1981 and 1982, while men’s basketball claimed the 1960 NAIA National Championship. The men’s golf program earned the 1983 NCAA Division II title. Olympic tradition runs deep with five Olympians collectively competing eight times, including Charles Austin, gold medalist in high jump, and Liudmila Litvinova, silver medalist in 2008, along with standout athletes Brigette Foster, Logan Cunningham, and Anicka Newell. Symbolizing stubborn fierceness and courage, the bobcat mascot Boko drives championship spirit across multiple sports. Texas State has claimed over 75 conference titles, building a legacy of developing world-class international and professional athletes who embody the grit and glory of the Bobcats.
