The University of Washington Huskies reflect excellence and storied tradition in Seattle since the 1890s. The rowing program stands as the greatest dynasty in collegiate rowing, immortalized by the 1936 Olympic gold medal crew depicted in “The Boys in the Boat.” Men’s rowing holds 21 IRA national championships; women’s rowing adds multiple NCAA and collegiate national titles. Husky rowing has collectively won over 80 national championships, symbolizing Northwest determination. Football boasts two national titles in 1960 and 1991, including an undefeated 1991 team with a dominant Rose Bowl win.
