15 Schools•Division III•Est. 2004
The United East Conference is a massive, highly dynamic NCAA Division III athletic alliance, completely unified following a landmark merger in 2023. Headquartered in the Mid-Atlantic region, the United East spans across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York. In this league, the structure is refreshingly straightforward despite its size: one massive table, unified regulations, and an incredibly diverse membership ranging from historic private institutions to robust branch campuses of the Penn State system.
Operating entirely without a centrally sponsored American football schedule, the conference pours its vast resources and intense regional rivalries onto the court and the pitch. "United East Hoops" is a grueling, 16-team gauntlet where securing a playoff spot requires immense depth and resilience. The conference is uniquely distinguished by the inclusion of Gallaudet University, the premier global institution for the deaf and hard of hearing, whose programs bring an inspiring and profoundly physical standard of competition to the league.
Beyond basketball, the United East is a dominant force in Men's and Women's Soccer, utilizing the deep talent pools of the East Coast to field fundamentally flawless rosters. With a large but highly stabilized membership, the United East Conference represents a modern triumph in Division III athletics: a mega-conference that successfully streamlined regional logistics while amplifying the fierce, competitive heart of collegiate sports.
