Team Profile
The Boise State Broncos represent the pride of Idaho and Bronco Nation, competing with determination and innovation in the Mountain West Conference. Known globally for the iconic blue turf at Albertsons Stadium, established in 1986, Boise State’s athletics program has risen to national prominence with a historic 13-0 football season in 2006, capped by a thrilling Fiesta Bowl upset of Oklahoma. With three Fiesta Bowl victories and a 1980 Division I-AA national championship, the Broncos have proved championship success is not confined to large programs. Beyond football, Boise State has earned multiple WAC Commissioner's Cups and produced individual national champions in track and field, wrestling, and skiing. The gymnastics program ranks consistently nationally, and track athletes have excelled internationally, including steeplechase champion Allie Ostrander. Buster Bronco and a passionate fanbase energize Boise State’s venues, including ExtraMile Arena and Donna Larsen Park. As the Broncos prepare to join the Pac-12 Conference in 2026, they continue a tradition of exceeding expectations, proving that innovation, blue turf, and Bronco pride can propel champions from the Rocky Mountains to the national stage.
