The South Dakota State Jackrabbits charge from the heart of the Great Plains representing South Dakota State University in Brookings. Since founding, the Jackrabbits have built a powerhouse athletics program competing in The Summit League with blue and yellow colors. Their 11 NCAA national championships highlight a legacy of multi-sport excellence. The football team commands attention with back-to-back FCS national championships in 2022 and 2023, including an undefeated 15-0 season and a 29-game winning streak—one of the longest in FCS history. Earlier triumphs include the 1963 NCAA College Division men's basketball championship and the 2003 NCAA Division II women’s basketball title, reflecting sustained excellence. Seven cross country national titles complement a broad competitive culture. Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium and First Bank & Trust Arena energize fans and athletes alike.
